Argumentative Brothers-In-Law Found Dead

"PRINCE FREDERICK, MD — On March 19, 2013 at 1:27 pm, the Calvert County 911 Center dispatched a call for a shooting at 4500 Hallowing Point Road, Prince Frederick.

"Officers from the Calvert Investigative Team were in the area on an unrelated matter and heard the shots. Those officers immediately responded to the shooting call. The Calvert Investigative Team is comprised of officers from the Maryland State Police and the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.

"Upon arrival, officers discovered Raymond William Willard, age 45 and Carl Ray Nerem Sr., age 42 deceased as a result of apparent gunshot wounds. Willard and Nerem are brother-in-laws and reside at the 4500 Hallowing Point Road address. It is believed that a verbal dispute led to Mr. Willard retrieving a handgun and fatally shooting Mr. Nerem. Mr. Willard then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.

"Sheriff’s Deputies had been to this residence only two days ago for an altercation between these same two men, however there was no sign of injury and neither Neman nor Willard wanted to peruse the matter. This is a sad day for both the Willard and Nerem family, as well as our community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to these families."
