Shooter Kills Himself During 911 Call
"CHANCEFORD TWP, PA — A Chanceford Township man on Saturday night shot and killed his wife following a domestic dispute and then turned the gun on himself while on the phone with a 911 dispatcher, according to state police.
"Steven Himes, 43, was found dead in the basement of his home on 2415 Delta Road, according to police. They said he died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
"Police said Himes’ wife, Amanda, 39, was found dead in a first-floor bedroom at the home. She died of apparent multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
"Police received the 911 call from Steven Himes at approximately 11:03 p.m. He told a dispatcher that he shot and killed his wife and police said he then went to the basement.
"An autopsy will be performed on Amanda Himes. Police continue to investigate the incident. State police are being assisted by York Area Regional Police and the York County Coroner’s office."
