No Sign Of Struggle In Double Murder/Suicide

"SAN ANTONIO, TX — Three bodies were found inside a west-side home on Thursday morning in what police believe to be a double murder-suicide.

"Investigators were called to a home in the 9600 block of Vale Drive around 8:26 a.m. They were sent there for a welfare check after staff at the J&R Trucking Company out of Minnesota reported they hadn't heard from two of their coworkers in over a week.

"When they broke down the front door of the residence, they discovered the bodies of an elderly woman, her boyfriend and her son. Local authorities then spent the morning sorting through the crime scene, wearing gas masks as they entered the home.

"San Antonio police Chief William McManus said the three had not been heard from since March 9.

"Police said they believe the older man entered the home and shot the other two in the "upper extremities" with .22 caliber handgun before taking his own life.

"The elderly man was found dead in living room, the other man was found dead in bedroom, and the elderly woman was found dead in other bedroom, police said.

"Nearly 25 guns were removed from the home on Thursday afternoon.

"Investigators said there did not appear to be a struggle."
