"Picture Perfect" Family Of Four Found Dead

"Columbus Township, MI - Neighbors say Phillip and Gina Parsons and their two teenage sons were like the picture-perfect family. They played baseball in the front yard, would lend a hand for yard work and shared polite conversation and home-cooked meals with neighbors.

"`I thought they were a family you could put on a Christmas card and mail it,` said Russ Whittaker, who lives across the street from the family's Short Road home. `They didn't drink, didn't party, and you could always visit with them.`

"But authorities allege sometime between the overnight hours of Saturday and Sunday, Phillip Parsons snapped -- shooting his wife, son and stepson to death in their beds before turning the gun on himself.

"St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon this afternoon said just after 8 p.m. Sunday, a concerned relative went to check on the family, looked inside and noticed what he thought was a man lying on the bedroom floor and called 911.

"Soon after, police arrived and found 35-year-old Phillip Parsons dead on the floor of the master bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the head. His wife, Gina Parsons, 34, was found in the couple's bed with numerous gun shot wounds. The teens, Sean Parsons, 14, and Andrew Davis, 14, who are stepbrothers and children from the Parsons' previous marriages, were each found dead in their beds of a single gunshot wound.

"Donnellon said the medical examiner has ruled it a murder-homicide. Police said Parsons shot the family with his own large-caliber handgun."

  1. What a selfish and cowardly act. It one thing to take his own life, but quit another to take the life of his two young sons. These children had their entire lives ahead of them. May God be with the family and carry them through this tragedy.

  2. My thoughts exactly. What a cowardly bastard to take out 3 innocent people, two of them kids who had their whole lives ahead of them. The family of Phil Parsons is also running around the internet defending him. He died a murderer. I feel bad for both families that will have to live with this.

  4. This man definitely wasn't capable of doing this, this was a 2 man job. There's no way one of the boys didn't wake up (other articles explain of no struggle) and no one was drugged. The police didn't do their job or they didn't know how with such a serious case. Once i read about this family and seen it on the news i knew there was no way. Hope the family members of this family find out the truth one day of what really happened that night
