Cops Won't Speculate On Death Of Elderly Couple
"MONROE, LA - Monroe Police detectives are investigating possible homicides on Monroe’s northside.
"Major Don Bartley said today an elderly couple was found dead in their bedroom with gunshot wounds.
"A weapon was found in the bedroom.
"Bartley identified them as Edgar P. Chapman, 88 and Agnes G. Chapman, 77.
"Another individual was in the house at 2715 Bramble Drive and is at the Monroe Police Department.
"Bartley stressed the third individual is not in custody.
"Police received reports of a gunshot wound around 10:45 a.m. today. Emergency responders arrived at the scene along with Monroe Police Department detectives.
"Bartley said there were no signs of forced entry and he said he could not speculate whether or not the shooting was a murder suicide.
"`It is still under investigation,` he said."
