Couple "Kept To Themselves" To The End

"MANDEVILLE, LA - St. Tammany Parish sheriff's deputies are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in the Greenleaves subdivision near Mandeville.

"Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 hang-up about 10 a.m. Monday morning from a house on Chateau Lorie Circle, Sheriff's Office spokesman Capt. George Bonnett said. When deputies responded, they found a woman dead in the home's garage and a man dead in the back yard, Bonnett said.

"Both of them had gunshot wounds, Bonnett said.

"Neighbors in the Chateau Loire section of the sprawling subdivision off U.S. 190 said they had not heard gunshots Monday morning. The couple who lived in the home mainly kept to themselves, the neighbors said.

"The couple involved were in their 70s or 80s, Sheriff Jack Strain said. Their names have been withheld until their relatives can be notified."
