Couple Found Dead In Georgia
"GRIFFIN, GA - Two Pike County residents are dead in what may be a murder/suicide. The married couple was found dead inside a home at 758 Hemphill Road Wednesday.
"Pike County sheriffs deputies were called to the house around 2 p.m. Wednesday in reference to an unresponsive person. Pike County coroner Terrell Moody said two people died from gunshot wounds at the house.
"Sheriff's deputies found Tiffany Shannon Dunn, 42, in the basement of the residence and after searching the remainder of the home found Dr. Walter Larry Dunn in an upstairs bedroom. Pike County investigators and the GBI crime scene unit gathered numerous pieces of evidence that indicate a murder/suicide occurred.
"`It appears that it was a murder/suicide but we are still investigating,` Moody said. `We are pretty certain a hand gun was used but we will definitely know after the autopsy.`
"An autopsy of the bodies is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at the GBI crime lab.
"Dr. Dunn was a veteran in the field of adult education and longtime faculty member at Griffin Tech."
