"Nothing Ever Happens Here"
"LEAGUE CITY, TX — A woman and a man were found shot to death in the Glen Cove subdivision in what police said appears to have been a murder-suicide.
"Police responded to the 600 block of Seminole Drive at 4:05 p.m. and found the two people dead in the front yard of a house, police Sgt. David Hausam said.
"Police said they suspected the man had a handgun and chased the woman from a house two doors down.
"Police had not identified the victims Monday evening and do not know whether they lived on Seminole Drive, Hausam said.
"Police are investigating the deaths, Hausam said. The Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform autopsies.
"Emily Hills, 10, was walking her dog on Seminole Drive when she saw a man chase a woman from a house across the street about 30 yards away.
"The woman was screaming as she ran from the man, Hills said.
"Hills said she saw the man shoot the woman with a pistol, then saw him shoot himself in the head.
"Only two shots were fired, Hills said.
"`I saw the gun, but at first I thought it was fake until I heard the woman screaming and fall,` Hills said. `I was really shaky and scared.`
"Hill’s called her grandfather, with whom she lives on Sierra Street near Seminole, to pick her up.
"Seminole Drive resident Barbara Kirsten was at home when the incident happened but did not hear gunshots.
"Kirsten had seen the two people walking through the neighborhood before but had never spoken with them.
"`It’s very shocking,` Kirsten said. `Nothing ever happens here. It’s a very quiet street.`"
