Police Unclear On Murder Weapon
"DEER PARK, TX - Two bodies were discovered late Thursday afternoon in a house in the 300 of block W. Ninth St. at Cedar St.
"`Around 4:45 p.m. today we received a call that we had two deceased persons inside this home,` said Lt. Wade Conner, with the Deer Park Police Department.
"The call came within minutes after the gunshots were heard.
"`They were discovered by a friend of the family,` he said. `He heard gunshots and went in, and discovered them.`
"When officers arrived at the scene, they found a dead female in her early to mid-20s and a dead male in his mid-20s to 30s.
"`It appears that each of them have died from a gunshot wound,` Conner said.
"He said weapons were found inside of the house, but it was unclear which ones may have been used in the shooting.
"`At this point we are not sure whether it’s a suicide/homicide or double homicide; we’re still investing,` Conner said.
"The police department said they have no history of domestic abuse reported at the residence.
"Next of kin were notified and family members showed up to the scene.
"The police were waiting for the Harris County Medical Examiner to show up as of 8 p.m.
"The names of the victims were not released as of Thursday night.
"The investigation is expected to take several months to be completed."
