"High Powered Rifle" Found At Scene

"ECTOR, TX — On 4/5/2011, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Fannin County Sheriff personnel responded to a disturbance call with shots fired at a residence south of Ector. Deputies arrived on scene to discover two deceased persons inside the residence.

"Residents were identified as David Dwayne Shrum, 38 years of age, and Holly Ann Shrum, 36 years of age. Both victims appeared to have been shot with a high powered rifle which was recovered at the scene. Preliminary investigation indicates the deaths were the result of a murder/suicide. Bodies were taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy."
