Store Closes After Double Murder/Suicide

"BROOKLYN CENTER, MN — A Brooklyn Center grocery store remains closed after a man shot two other people there on Friday night.

"It happened at the Festival Foods at 8535 Edinburgh Center Drive. Investigators say a man shot a woman and another man in the break room of that store.

"The woman died at the scene and the man was taken to North Memorial Medical Center where he later died.

"The accused shooter left the area immediately after the incident. Police tracked him to Minneapolis and when officers began to approach the him, he shot himself, committing suicide.

"Police have not released any of the victims' names or a reason for the shooting. Brooklyn Park police do say that the shooter was an ex-acquaintance of the deceased female.

"It is not known when the store might re-open this weekend."
