Shooter Drives Over Cliff
"PUEBLO, CO — Pueblo police are investigating what they believe to be a murder-suicide Sunday. Detectives say one woman was found with gunshot wounds in an apartment, and her boyfriend apparently drove off a cliff.
"Authorities in Pueblo say they received a report around noon Sunday, from a family member of the 32-year-old female victim. Her body was found inside an apartment on 1703 Oakshire Lane, near Troy Ave. and Highway 50 on the east side of town.
"A firearm was found inside the apartment near the victim's body.
"Colorado State Patrol says the other end of this suspected murder-suicide took place just before 4 a.m. Sunday. That's when they received an On-Star report of the crash of a 2011 Chevy Camaro, near the Royal Gorge. It happened on Fremont County Road 61, approximately 2.9 miles south of Colorado 50.
"The shooting victim's 36-year-old boyfriend was found inside that vehicle, in a ravine; he was partially ejected from the car after driving off the cliff, and died at the scene.
"Police say they are not actively looking for any more suspects in this killing.
"The names of the victim and suspect are not being released just yet, pending notification of kin and an autopsy. The El Paso County coroner will conduct the autopsy on the shooting victim, which is normal procedure in this situation."
