Argument Leads To Attempted Murder/Suicide
"JACKSONVILLE, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has ruled a double shooting in Oceanway Thursday afternoon to be an attempted murder and suicide.
"Police responded to a home in the 3400 block of Hickory Landing Court after reports of gunshots, according to a news release from Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.
"Bujeda said when officers arrived at the address they found a man inside the residence who had been shot and killed.
"Police also found a woman shot inside the home, the woman was still alive Bujeda said and was taken to a local hospital.
"Bujeda said detectives determined the man, identified by police as 43-year-old Robert Griffin, was arguing with the woman when he shot her. Griffin then turned the gun on himself.
"The woman is in life-threatening condition.
"The Homicide Unit of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating the attempted murder of the woman and Griffin's suicide.
"The female's identity is being withheld at this time, Bujeda said, due to the active investigation."
