"Please, Just Walk Away"

"TAMARAC, FL — A 37-year-old Tamarac woman was listed in critical condition late Monday after being hit by a shotgun blast in a possible attempted murder-suicide, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

"Deborah Anne Shannon was found wounded in an apartment on the 8300 block of Sands Point Boulevard about midnight Friday. Her estranged boyfriend Mario Rosdao Jr., 37, was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted shotgun wound, according to the investigative report.

"Neighbor Donnette Kalawan called 911 after hearing the commotion next door. She said she witnessed part of the struggle between Rosado and Shannon prior to the shootings.

"`I was in between them both. I kept saying, 'Mario, please, please, just walk away,'` Kalawan said. `I could see the fear in [Shannon's] eyes.`

"Records show the couple had been in court for domestic violence and child support cases. Rosado had an arrest record that included aggravated assault with a weapon, marijuana possession and commercial littering, according to the FDLE.

"Shannon has undergone at least two surgeries since the shooting, investigators said."
