Police Suspect Murder/Suicide But Can't ID Perp
"SACRAMENTO, CA — The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has identified one of two people found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in a Colonial Heights home Wednesday as 41-year-old Kassandra Atterberry.
"Atterberry was a Fresno resident, according to the coroner's office.
"Sacramento police detective said today that they suspect both people died in a murder-suicide. However, they cannot yet say which person was the aggressor, said Officer Doug Morse.
"Morse also declined to discuss manner of death. The Coroner's office also did not have a cause of death, pending autopsies scheduled for Friday.
"The bodies were discovered by a family member who had not talked to the man and woman, described by police as being in a dating relationship, in a few days and was concerned about their welfare, Morse said. The relative knocked on doors and windows at the home on the 5100 block of 15th Avenue and then found the bodies inside the home.
"That relative called police.
"The man found dead has not been identified. Police described him as being in his 40s."
