Neighbors Surprised By Murder/Suicide

"MADISONVILLE, KY — At approximately 8:30 Friday morning, Hopkins County Sheriffs, Kentucky State Police, and Medical Center Ambulance Service responded to calls that a man had been shot by his wife at a residence on Forest Acres Loop in Madisonville.

"Witnesses [told reporters] that a female had shot her husband multiple times. The man was immediately transported to Baptist Health for treatment, and the female remained in their residence at 1862 Forest Acres Loop, refusing Sheriff’s Deputies’ requests for her to come out.

"At 8:54, Sheriffs forced their way into the rear door of the home. A short time later, it was reported that she had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.

"The couple wasn’t known for arguing or causing disturbances, and the incident took the neighborhood by surprise."
