Bodies Found On Dead End Street

"SIMI VALLEY, CA — Two neighbors who died in an apparent murder/suicide in Simi Valley Monday were shot to death, officials said Wednesday.

"A woman’s body was found about 7 a.m. in the front yard of a house in the 3300 block of Billie Court, police said. A man’s body was found outside another home in the same cul-de-sac.

"Simi Valley police Cmdr. David Livingstone said a handgun was recovered from the scene, but the type of caliber was unclear. Police have not said who they think shot first or what led to the shooting.

"Shortly after the bodies were found, police said the incident appeared to be isolated and they were not looking for any suspects. Investigators believe the shooting occurred Monday morning, and the two people died where they were found, Livingstone said.

"Livingstone said the two were next-door neighbors who had some sort of pre-existing relationship, but it was unclear what kind of connection they did have. Their names had not been released yet, pending notification of family members. Autopsies are expected to be completed Wednesday, officials said."
