Cops Won't Finger Shooter

"HOUSTON, TX — Investigators were at a north Houston apartment complex Saturday, gathering information on a deadly shooting. Police believe the man and woman involved may have been in a relationship.

"Police got a call Saturday morning, saying that two people had shot each other in an upstairs apartment.

"Officers arrived at Building 9 of the Park de Ville Apartments on Greens Road a little after 10:30am. Inside the upstairs apartment, they found a man and a woman dead, both with gunshot wounds.

"Homicide detectives said it appears to have been a murder/suicide, but they wouldn't specify who shot whom.

"Neighbors said the couple lived together with two children, and the man would openly carry a gun at times.

"`He would carry it once in a while, and one time he actually showed it to me,` neighbor Jose Garza said.

"According to police, the children's grandmother was in the apartment with the kids. She heard one gunshot and then another inside the apartment, then called 911.

"The man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene.

"Neighbors said they'd seen some suspicious activity in the apartment complex in recent weeks, including a carjacking at gunpoint. But the shooting, they say, hits too close to home."
