Bodies Found During Police Response

"LAKE CHARLES, LA — Lake Charles police found two people dead in an apartment in the 100 block of Arlington Street on Wednesday afternoon.

"At approximately 12:13 p.m. on Jan. 8, officers responded to a call. Upon arriving at the address, they attempted to make contact with the parties inside but received no response.

"Officers made entry into the apartment where they found the bodies with apparent gunshot wounds.

"Investigators identified the deceased as Mia Katherine Trahan, 25, of Lake Charles, and Kody Todd Fontenot, 32, from Branch, LA.

"The investigation has revealed that a murder/suicide occurred in which Kody Todd Fontenot shot and killed Mia Katherine Trahan and then turned the weapon on himself."
