Toddler OK, Slasher Mom In Hospital

"Lewisberry, PA — A Fairview Township toddler whose mother cut his neck before she attempted suicide last week has been released from a local hospital, according to township police.

"The 2-1/2-year-old boy, whose name has not been made public, was released from Hershey Medical Center over the weekend, Acting Police Chief Jason Loper said.

"The boy and his mother, 36-year-old Candis Bradshaw, were rushed to Hershey Medical Center Friday morning by medical helicopter, police have said.

"Bradshaw, of the first block of Foxfire Lane, remains in the hospital, according to Loper, who said her condition was unavailable.

"Bradshaw stabbed herself in the chest after making two cuts, each several inches long, on each side of her son's neck, according to police.

"Township police officers were called to Bradshaw's home in the Hedgerow development about 8:45 a.m. Friday, Loper said."
