Dad, Kids Found Dead On Military Base

"FORT HOOD, TX — Military officials Thursday evening identified a man and his two daughters who were found dead earlier this week in their home at Fort Hood after what investigators think was a murder/suicide as Rouhad Ahamd Ezzeddine, 43, Leila Rouhad Ezzeddine, 9, and Zeinab Rouhad Ezzeddine, 4.

"Ezzeddine’s wife, Pfc. Carla Santisteban, 33, who recently returned home from a deployment to Afghanistan, found the bodies at around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday in the family’s home in the Pershing Park neighborhood on Fort Hood.

"Santisteban is assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 15th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team.

"`This is a terrible tragedy for the mother and families of these children. We are doing everything possible to care for the family in this time of profound grief and loss,` said Maj. Gen. Anthony Ierardi, Fort Hood senior commander and commanding general 1st Cavalry Division.

"Special Agents from U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command are investigating the deaths.

"`Although a final determination has not been made and the investigation is continuing, early indications are the deaths are possibly the result of a tragic murder suicide involving the husband and the two children,` Fort Hood said in a press release Thursday evening.

"Autopsies are being performed by the Office of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner."
