Woman Hears Two Shots, Police Find Two Bodies
"SHORELINE, WA — King County deputies are investigating an apparent murder/suicide in Shoreline that left a husband and wife dead on Saturday.
"A family member [told reporters] that the husband and wife are Nicholas Herschberger and Laurel Hoffman.
"Larson of the King County Sheriff’s Office said she could not identify the couple, but that the two were in their 30s.
"Larson said just before 9 a.m. a woman called 911 to report hearing two shots fired in her home on 530 NE 175th Street.
"According to deputies, the woman went downstairs to find her daughter-in-law on the floor and that she appeared to be shot.
"Officers helped get the woman and her 2-year-old grandchild out of the house safely. But inside, they found both her son and daughter-in-law dead.
"Authorities said the woman lived with her son, his wife and their child.
"Larson said it was not clear whether the husband or wife was the shooter."
