Bodies Of Mother & Son Found During Welfare Check
"AMHERST, NH — Investigators have identified two people killed in a murder/suicide in Amherst this week.
"The Attorney General's Office said the bodies of John Trombly, 35, and his mother, Elizabeth Trombly, 69, were found Tuesday morning when police were called to do a welfare check at 1 Meadow Lane.
"`Once they arrived, they found an adult woman and her adult male son in the home, deceased,` said Assistant Attorney General Stacey Pawlik.
"Officials said an autopsy showed that John Trombly committed suicide and died of a single gunshot wound. They said Elizabeth Trombly died of multiple gunshot wounds, and her death was a homicide.
"Authorities said the weapon used was an AK-47 assault rifle.
"It was not clear how long the bodies had been in the house before they were discovered. A neighbor said there was nothing suspicious going on at the house in recent days.
"A person close to the family said John Trombly had been struggling with addiction and was living at the home with his mother. The person said the two were known to be alive as recently as Friday, but loved ones were concerned about his well-being."
