Murder Suspect Found Dead
"CLINTON, NC — Schools in two districts in Sampson County were put on lockdown temporarily Friday as law enforcement searched for a murder suspect.
"Sampson County Sheriff's deputies responded to 4901 Old Warsaw Road in Clinton around 10 a.m. after it received a call concerning a shooting victim, authorities said.
"Deputies discovered the body of a female upon arrival. An investigation revealed the owner of the home where the body was found was also the victim's employer, authorities said.
"The sheriff's office said the victims estranged husband was quickly named as a suspect in the incident.
"Deputies were dispatched to schools in the Hobbton and Midway districts after threats were made against other family members of the victim.
"The schools were on lockdown until the suspect was located at 611 Henry Vann Farm Road around 11 a.m., authorities said.
"The sheriff's office said it believes the suspect took his own life at this location.
"The Sampson County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate both deaths.
"The names of the suspect and victim were not released."
