Cops Hear Final Shot On Arrival At Scene

"SURPRISE, AZ — Two people are dead in a shooting in Surprise.

"Surprise police Sgt. M.J. Donovan said that officers responded to a home near Waddell Road and Bullard Avenue around 10:40 a.m. for a possible shooting call.

"When officers arrived and tried to make contact at the residence, a shot was heard from inside.

"After getting inside, officers found two adults deceased from gunshot wounds.

"Donovan said initial information suggests that one adult shot the other and then shot him or herself.

"One officer received a minor cut to the hand as they were making entry into the house. There were no other injuries.

"An investigation is underway."
