Two Dead At Georgia Food Plant

"AUGUSTA, GA — Two are dead after a murder-suicide at FPL Food, located at 1301 New Savannah Road.

"According to Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Carrier, an FPL Foods employee, identified as Emanuel Jordan, 21, of the 2000 block of Wrightsboro Road, fired several shots at a victim at the property around 1:15 p.m.

"After the victim died, Jordan, who worked at the facility, turned the gun on himself.

"According to a FPL Food press release, the victim was a female who was not employed at the business. Her identity has not been released pending notification of family.

"Authorities continue to investigate the incident and have not released information on a possible motive.

"Jordan has previous Richmond County charges of family violence, simple battery and theft by receiving stolen property from 2008 and a charge of possession of cocaine from 2009."
