Husband Expected To Survive Attempted Murder/Suicide

"THE DALLES, OR — Police in The Dalles said a man survived an attempted murder-suicide shooting by his wife early Saturday morning.

"Officers found Gerald Levden, 42, on the front porch of a house near his home. He had been shot in the chest.

"Officers then went to his home and found his wife, Carla Levden, 46, dead from a gunshot wound.

"An autopsy revealed the woman died of a self-inflicted shot.

"Investigators said she shot her husband while he was in bed, and then shot herself with the same gun.

"Gerald Levden is still in the hospital in serious condition. Police said he is expected to survive."
