Two Dead, One Wounded In Suspected Murder/Suicide
"MELBOURNE, FL — Melbourne police suspect a murder-suicide left a man and woman dead at an apartment complex this afternoon.
"Investigators are working to determine how a third woman ended up with gunshot wounds to her hands and arms, but she doesn’t appear to be a suspect. Police said neighbors should not be worried about suspects on the lam.
"`Investigators are looking at the possibility that this was a murder-suicide,` Melbourne Police Sgt. Sheridan Shelley said.
"`The public doesn’t have to be concerned,` Shelley said. `Everyone that was involved appears to be accounted for.`
"Neighbors called 9-1-1 about 5 p.m. reporting a woman outside the single-story apartment complex on League Avenue was bleeding badly from a gunshot wound.
"Officers arrived and found a woman with gunshot wounds to her arms and hands. They went to a unit near the end and found a man and woman dead inside. Police think the man and woman were in a relationship and Shelley said a gun was found at the scene.
"The wounded woman was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, Melbourne Police Cmdr. Sean Riordan said."
