Suspected Killer Served Time For Murder, Robbery

"SAN DIEGO, CA — Two children and a woman were found dead and one taken to hospital after police made a welfare check on a home in Paradise Hills.

"San Diego police officers visited the home at 2456 Luther St. to find 55-year-old Clarence Blunt in the entryway slumped over and having trouble breathing.

"Inside the home's living room, officers also found his wife Lilly Blunt, 33, and children Linna Blunt, 3, and 7-month-old Richard Blunt., according to a statement from Lt. Ernie Herbert with the San Diego Police Department

"Lilly Blunt was a registered nurse and the mother of the two children. Her death was the result of murder, police said. She and the two children were pronounced dead on the scene.

"Clarence Blunt, a former security guard, was taken to the hospital after attempting to take his own life, Herbert stated. As of Monday afternoon, he was still being treated.

"Court records show Blunt was convicted of murder and robbery in 1975 and served multiple prison sentences. In 1985, he was also convicted of burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

"According to court documents, Lilly claimed Clarence was abusive and the he threatened to hurt her if she filed for divorce.

"The documents also show that Clarence accused Lilly of stealing pills and having drug issues.

"Lilly filed for divorce back on August 6, citing irreconcilable differences, just days after requesting a restraining order against Clarence.

"Their causes of death are under investigation. There are no outstanding suspects."
