"I Think He Just Snapped"

"ANNISTON, AL — A double shooting has now left 2 people dead. This morning, 83-year old Annise Zimmerman died at Anniston's Regional Medical Center from a gunshot to the head. Sunday, police found 73-year old Geneva Bridges shot dead and Zimmerman inside a home in the 600 block of West 13th St.

"Investigators have classified the case as a death investigation, but say all signs point to a murder suicide.

"Neighbors say Zimmerman and Bridges had been a couple for many years and had no obvious signs of problems. However, neighbors also say Zimmerman had been sick for sometime. Sally Morris [said] Zimmerman had a bit a of jealous streak and had been feeling `down and out`.

"`He told me he was going to do something to himself,` said Morris. `I told him 'don't do that.'` She told him he would get better.

"`I think he just snapped.`"
