"GRANITEVILLE, SC — A Graniteville man, just released from jail, went to the home of his estranged wife on Saturday and shot and killed his grandson, according to the Aiken County Coroner's Office."He then took his own life, an incident witnessed by an off-duty police officer, according to the report.
"Ronald W. Wilson, 67, of 925 Whaley Pond Road, according to witnesses, went to the residence of his estranged wife, who lived at 923 Whaley Pond Road, and shot and killed his 16-year-old grandson, Gerald Wilson.
"The suspect's estranged wife and the live-in girlfriend of the victim were able to escape the dwelling without injury.
"The suspect's estranged wife notified an off-duty police officer for assistance, who then witnessed Wilson take his own life, according to the report.
"The suspect had just been released from jail for a previous domestic violence issue within the past 72 hours, officials said.
"The investigation is ongoing."
