"FORT LAUDERDALE — Police identified Thursday the recently divorced couple found dead in their apartment following a murder/suicide."Robert Pirana, 46, and his ex-wife Diliana, 41, died of gunshot wounds Wednesday afternoon, Detective DeAnna Greenlaw said.
"`The husband turned on the wife and shot her multiple times,` she said. `The husband then turned the firearm on himself.`
"A family member found their bodies in a unit at the Golden Eagle apartments at 2624 NE 32nd St. and called police. Their children were not home at the time and neighbors did not report hearing any gunshots, Greenlaw said.
"`Although this was an unfortunate situation, it did occur during the day while children would be attending school,` she said. `There were no children around to witness this.`
"Broward court records show the Piranas' divorce was finalized Nov. 13."
