Recently Separated Couple Found Dead After Distress Call
"BOONES MILL, VA — A man in Boones Mill killed his wife and then himself early Thanksgiving morning, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s office.
"Police first received a 911 call from a woman in `major distress` at 1:28 a.m Thursday. When the call was disconnected, dispatchers called back, this time reaching a man.
"The man identified himself as Chris Cooper and told dispatchers he had just killed his wife and was about to kill himself.
"When police arrived at the 314 Cascade Lane scene about six minutes later, they found Angela Cooper, 39, and her husband, Christopher Cooper, 43, both dead of apparent gunshot wounds.
"According to a news release, evidence at the scene suggests Christopher Cooper killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.
"There is no history of domestic disturbance at the residence, but the couple was recently separated, Lt. Phillip Young confirmed Thursday evening.
"The couple leaves behind two children, ages 13 and 8, but neither was home during the incident, according to Young."
