A House To Die For

"LA QUINTA, CA — Authorities say an argument between three siblings over who inherited their mother’s house in the Palm Springs area led one of them to shoot the other two before turning the gun on himself.

"Riverside County sheriff’s spokesman Michael Manning [told reporters] Thursday that 55-year-old Robert Bertrand shot and killed 61-year-old brother Rick Bertrand and shot and seriously wounded his sister Sunday at the home in La Quinta.

"Manning says the sister, whose name has not been released, was able to get into her car and drive away. She was later found in the car by deputies and remains in critical condition four days later.

"The Sheriff’s Department did not elaborate on the argument. County records show the deed is under the name of the alleged shooter, Robert Bertrand."
