Cops Find Bodies In Locked Home
"LEBANON, PA — Lebanon police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman found shot in a northside home early Thursday morning.
"Police were called to 314 Old North Ninth St. shortly after midnight for a disturbance inside a ground-floor apartment. Old North Ninth Street is a secluded block-long row of homes that remain from before the bridge over the nearby Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks was built two years ago.
"The witness who walked by the apartment reported hearing loud arguing and glass breaking inside the residence and called 9-1-1, according to a news release issued by Lebanon police.
"When officers arrived at the scene minutes later, there was no response at the door. However, officers could see a man down in the living room of the residence through a front window and forced entry, the release stated.
"Inside, officers found a male and a female both dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Nobody else was located inside the residence.
"The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of relatives. Autopsies were scheduled at Lehigh Valley Hospital for later Thursday.
"Lebanon police Chief Daniel Wright said the male victim was known to police.
"Wright could not say if a weapon was recovered at the scene but said bullet casings were found. He would not comment further on the incident, including whether he believed it was a murder/suicide.
"`This is an active, ongoing investigation,` he said."
