Bodies Of Father, Daughter Found Miles Apart

"HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MI — Michigan State Police say a father and daughter have been found dead more than 80 miles apart.

"Police say 59-year-old Gary Volkers was found dead by a vehicle near LeRoy Township on Sunday. They say investigators found his daughter, 31-year-old Stacey Grotenhuis, dead in her father's Holland Township home after evidence at the first scene led them there.

"State Police First Lt. Chris McIntire says it's too early to confirm a murder-suicide but there is no indication that another person was involved. He says Grotenhuis' death is being investigated as a homicide and investigators are trying to determine how Volkers died. They are waiting for autopsy results for both.

"Grotenhuis recently moved back to Michigan and had been staying with her father."
