Five Shot, Three Dead, No Motive
"NORCROSS, GA — Two women shot by a family member this week in Peachtree Corners continue to recover at Gwinnett Medical Center.
"Brandon Mclean opened fire on his mother, 57-year-old Betty Mclean; his aunt, 52-year-old Charlotte Longnecker; his 13-year-old niece, Kayla Serrano; and his 19-year-old nephew, Andre Mclean, before turning the gun on himself.
"Both teens died as did the 30-year-old gunman.
"Gwinnett Police released the 911 call Thursday made by Ted Longnecker, who was outside when he heard the gunshots. When he went inside to check on the commotion, he too was shot at but escaped.
"`I think he shot my wife dead… but I can’t get up there because he’s got a gun,` he told the 911 operator.
"His wife, Charlotte, was shot in the arm and her sister shot in the chest as Mclean fired through the bathroom door.
"Police still don’t have a motive for the shooting, but Longnecker says in the call that Mclean had been violent.
"`They was (sic) having a talk with him because he’s been violent… they’re trying to get him out of the house,` he says.
"Longnecker told [reporters] TV Mclean was unemployed and was living off his mother. The family is now displaced and has no money to bury the teens."
