Explosion, Fire, Suspicious Murder/Suicide Note
"GRISWOLD, CT - An explosion and fire leveled a home where an apparent murder-suicide note was found in the mailbox Monday, state police said.
"The fire was reported at 5:17 a.m. Investigators and firefighters remained at the scene late Monday morning and were looking for victims.
"State police said the note indicated a murder-suicide had occurred in the house, and authorities were searching the rubble and the nearby Pachaug State Forest.
"`We found what appeared to be a murder-suicide note and not all the information contained in that note was factual,` said Lt. J. Paul Vance, a state police spokesman.
"Police also said the person believed to have written the note was involved in a car accident early Monday. His injuries were not life threatening, Vance said.
"The house on 74 Richardson Hill Road was owned by 34-year-old Carson Mueller and his mother, 69-year-old Denise Mueller, The Day of New London reported.
"Authorities were investigating the cause of the explosion."
