"Grizzly Discovery"
"PADUCAH, KY - Police made a grizzly discovery in a Paducah home Tuesday morning. A man and woman were both found shot to death.
"Police found the bodies of 32-year-old Kristofer Habeck and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Anna-Maria Shane in a home on North 23rd Street.
"They have ruled the deaths a homicide-suicide.
"Officers found the couple in a bedroom after conducting a welfare check at 925 North 23rd Street.
"The Habeck's employer had called to say he hadn't heard from the man since Saturday.
"An autopsy performed Wednesday confirms both died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
"Det. Sgt. Brian Laird with the Paduah Police Department says the investigation determined that Habeck shot Shane with a .22-caliber handgun as she slept, then shot himself.
"He says the couple had been arguing in the days leading up to their deaths."
