Family Of Four Found Dead In Scottsdale

"SCOTTSDALE, AZ - Two adults and two children were found dead inside a Northeast Valley home on Thursday afternoon.

"According to Scottsdale Police Spokesperson Mark Clark, the bodies were found in a house near 91st Street and Thunderbird Road.

"Clark said the deaths appear to be part of a murder/suicide, and that authorities have recovered a note written by the man and also a weapon at the scene.

"All four victims had gunshot wounds, according to Clark.

"Officers said they were called by an out-of-state family member around 2 p.m. on a welfare check. When police arrived at the scene, they found the bodies.

"A husband and wife had rented the house and the couple's two boys were ages 5 and 10, according to neighbors.

"Neighbors said they would watch an adult man walk the two boys to school every day.

"Wayne Lehsten said the family appeared friendly, but quiet. Lehsten said most neighbors in this area knew each other and that they frequently had block parties, but this family never participated.

"Lehsten's eyes welled up as he began to speak about the youngest of the boys. He said the boy seemed happy and well cared for."
