Family Present At Shooting

"ELIZABETHTON, TN — Authorities released the identities Sunday of two people who died in an apparent murder/suicide Saturday night.

"Carter County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Ron Street said a man and woman were found dead at the scene.

"They have been identified as Sharon Waycaster, 40, and Conley Waycaster, 38.

"Deputies responded to the call at 205 Bear Hollow Road shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday. Both bodies were found outside with gunshot wounds to their heads, police said.

"Street said this is an unusual scene because there were family members who witnessed the shooting.

"The bodies were transported to East Tennessee State University’s James H. Quillen College of Medicine for autopsies.

"More information is expected to be released as the investigation continues."
