Pair Critical After Murder/Suicide Attempt
"LITTLETON, CO - Two people are in the hospital after a shooting Tuesday morning near the Qwest building in Littleton.
"Lt. Trent Cooper with the Littleton Police Department [said] they were called to the area of West Mineral Avenue, west of South Broadway, on the report of a shooting that happened just before 7:30 Tuesday morning.
"According to Cooper, a man driving a Ford F150 shot his wife before shooting himself. It was not immediately known where on West Mineral Avenue the shooting happened other than it was in the general vicinity of the Qwest building.
"Police responded to the area after receiving tips from a nearby jogger and a commuter. Witnesses reported hearing two to three gun shots in the area.
"The man and woman, according to police, are 38 and 35 years old respectively. Police say they are married but estranged and live in Highlands Ranch.
"Both the man and woman, whose names have not been released, were taken to a hospital in Littleton and are listed in critical condition.
"West Mineral Avenue remains closed two block east and west of West Mineral Place as the investigation continues."
