Quick Response Team Not Quick Enough
"YORK, PA - Police in York County are investigating what they think is a murder-suicide that happened yesterday evening in Springettsbury Township. Just before 7 p.m., police went over to check on the welfare of a woman at 4003 Wilshire Drive. Cops say they received a call from family members of the woman, who had called to tell them she feared for her life.
"When police arrived, they made several attempts to contact residents in the home. After the unsuccessful attempts, police entered the home to try to save the female caller. At that point, they heard a single gunshot.
"Police officers pulled back and called for backup, bringing out the York County Quick Response Team. After trying to make contact with the people inside for over 5 hours, police again entered the home to find a male and female dead in the basement, from an apparent murder-suicide carried out by the male.
"Police are not releasing any names until family members are notified. The York County Coroner says the two victims are the residents of the house. The house is listed to a Kenneth and Bonnie Miller. The coroner says no autopsy will be performed because there are no pending charges in this case."
