Three Dead After "Verbal Altercation"

"SACRAMENTO, CA - Three people are dead in a double murder-suicide believed to be a love triangle gone bad. The suspected shooter was found dead outside of a home Saturday night along with his two victims, according to authorities.

"The shooting happened around 9:40 p.m. on Thurman Way near Stockton Boulevard, said Sacramento Sheriff spokesman Sgt. Tim Curran. Someone in the area called 911 after several shots were fired in the street.

"When deputies arrived, they found the bodies of two men, ages 28 and 25, and a 17-year-old woman, lying around a truck in front of a home, Curran said. Several ammunition casings were located nearby.

"A semi-automatic handgun was found next to the 25-year-old man's body. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head while the others had multiple gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.

"The victims' names were not released.

"Investigators believe the shooter went to the house and engaged in a verbal altercation with the woman -- his former girlfriend -- and her new boyfriend.

"Curran said the man left the home only to return a short time later with a gun. Investigators said he then shot the woman's boyfriend, shot her and turned the gun on himself."
