2 Dead, Shooter Critical In Botched Double Murder/Suicide

"FLINT, MI — Police were at a house on Tacken Street, near Orr Street, processing the scene this morning of a murder/suicide that occurred at about 4:30 a.m. The incident left two men dead and one seriously injured.

"An unidentified man shot and killed 43-year-old Michael McLean and seriously injured 41-year-old Rodney McLean today at the house on Tacken Street. Police say the man had an altercation at the house earlier that night and later returned, broke into the house and shot the two victims. He fled the scene and as Flint Township police attempted to pull the man over, he shot himself.

"Neighbor Kelly Switalski, who lives next door to the house where the homicide occurred, said she and her boyfriend heard the gun shots early this morning and called 911. The police were quick to respond, she said, making it about seven minutes after their call.

"`It’s a tragedy,` Switalski said about the incident.

"Switalski said after the shots, they went into a back room in their house and hid until the police arrived.

"She has been awake since the incident happened early this morning."
