Police Ponder Possible Double Murder/Suicide

"EDWARDSVILLE, IL — The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a probable murder suicide.

"Police say while checking a residence in the 8500 block of Lagemann in Godfrey, officers discovered two bodies. Investigators then responded to the 3700 block of Franor in Alton, looking for a suspect.

"They found the body of a man outside and believe he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"Police say the investigation is ongoing and that more information will be released after autopsies are performed."
