Husband Shot Multiple Times In Attempted Murder/Suicide

"WINCHESTER, KY — Winchester Police are calling a double shooting Thursday night an attempted murder-suicide.

"It all unfolded around 8:30 p.m. inside of a home on 115 Kittison Drive in Clark County.

"Police say it appears Patricia Volkar shot her husband, Ted, several times inside of their Winchester home, then turned the gun on herself.

"According to the Clark County coroner, the preliminary results of an autopsy performed Friday seem to back that up, showing Patricia Volkar died from a self-inflicted gunshot.

"Around 8:30 p.m. Friday night, crews rushed to the Volkars' home on Kittison Drive, after police say Patricia's husband, Ted, called 911, telling dispatchers he'd been shot multiple times.

"Ted Volkar was taken to UK hospital with serious injuries, while his wife was found dead in the home.

"The shooting remains under investigation by the Winchester Police Department. A possible motive is not being discussed.

"Police say they questioned Ted Volkar Friday at UK Hospital. They say his condition appears to be improving."
