Two Dead After Argument Leads To Gunfire

"JOLIET, IL — The Will County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance with shots fired at 205 Independence Ave. in Joliet Township at 12:08 a.m. Sept. 30.

"Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a witness who informed the deputies that two subjects were inside the bedroom. Deputies observed Kearra D. Hosey, age 35, and Marcus T. Crosby, age 36, both with fatal gunshot wounds. East Joliet Fire personnel were called to the scene, where the two were pronounced dead.

"The witness, a relative of Crosby’s and also resided with the couple at this address, gave preliminary statements indicating that Hosey and Crosby had been arguing in the bedroom. Crosby pulled a handgun out and fatally shot Hosey, the witness told police, and then turned the gun on himself.

"The couple had been married in May 2013. Joliet Police had responded to a domestic call on Sept. 16, 2012, during which Marcus Crosby was arrested for domestic battery.

"Crosby was currently employed in the Joliet School District as a security guard. An autopsy is expected within the week."
