Pair Found Shot In Parking Lot

"BESSEMER, PA — State police in Lawrence County are investigating an apparent murder/suicide.

"Police say a passerby found two people who had been shot in the parking lot of Bessemer Lake at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

"The body of 54-year-old Ronald Allen Hartman of East Poland Ave., North Beaver Township was found on the ground. He had died from an apparent gunshot wound.

"50-year-old Shirley Ann Rivardo, who has the same address as Hartman's, was found inside a nearby pickup truck. Rivardo had also been shot.

"She was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown where she was pronounced dead.

"State police say a preliminary investigation indicates that Hartman shot Rivardo, then shot himself."
