Newlyweds Found Dead In Home

"TABOR CITY, NC — The bodies of a newlywed couple were found in their bedroom Monday morning in an apparent murder-suicide, Capt. David Nobles of the Columbus County Sheriff's Office said.

"Robert Edward Hewett Jr., 45, and Farrah Faith Prince, 36, were pronounced dead at their home on Spivey Road, Nobles said.

"Investigators say Robert Hewett stabbed his wife numerous times with a knife, then shot himself in the head, Nobles said.

"Mrs. Hewett's sons—ages 17, 10 and 8—went to the master bedroom door at the rear of the modular home but were unable to get inside or get any response, Nobles said.

"Sheriff's deputies responding to a 911 call about a domestic situation with weapons treated the incident as if someone were barricaded inside, Nobles said.

"Members of the SWAT team entered the home and found the bodies in the bedroom, Maj. Lewis Hatcher said.

"Family members said the couple had been married a short time although they had lived together for about a year, Nobles said.

"Autopsies are expected to be done today in Raleigh."
